This order form is for pullets (female chicks)! If you wish to add cockerels (male chicks), or desire Straight Run (Not Sexed), please leave a note on the form- they should be less expensive than females. 

Feel free to add any questions or special breed requests. Prices on form are for pick up within the first 3 days of arrival. WE ADD at least $1/bird for each week later of age at pick up.

PLEASE BRING A SMALL BOX!  WE OCCASIONALLY RUN OUT OF BOXES, BUT HAVE SMALL CHICK CRATES FOR $1. 

Breed availability is subject to change with interest of customers, so Please speak up if you are looking for particular breeds! Occasionally I cancel breeds due to lack of interest.  Need MALE CHICKS?? We can get them!! I DO CUSTOM ORDERS! 

A NOTE ON SEXING! Our chicks are Sexed Females/Pullets Except where noted as Straight Run/Unsexed or Males! Sexing across the board is around 90% accurate unless you choose birds that are auto sexing by color (Cream Legbars, for instance). If you purchase your chicks from me as sexed females, and you wind up with roosters, I do help with that as I'm able to and get the room.. please ask for disclaimer and you need to keep some kind of proof of purchase. I try my very best to stand behind my birds and want all to be pleased. 

 

* Straight Run or Unsexed means they are NOT sexed for gender.

* Bantam breeds are NOT sexed.

* A Bantam is a small breed, usually a mini size of a Standard size breed.

* A Pullet is a young Female chick.

* A Hen is an adult Female chicken.

* A cockerel is a young Male chick.

* A Rooster is an adult Male chicken.

* A Poult is a young Turkey.

*** PLEASE!!! Do your Research on proper chick care and rearing along with researching the breeds you're interested in. While we are happy to answer questions!!, it is up to YOU to be fully prepared for chicks and do your breed & care research. We DO NOT sell Solo chicks to be solo chicks EVER. A solo chick IS an UNHAPPY chick and are happiest in groups, they also stay warmer. IF YOU DON'T HAVE OTHER CHICKS OF THE SAME AGE, WE RECOMMEND AT LEAST 4. If you have no birds at all and starting with chicks we recommend at least 5 to 6 chicks. Think of your target flock number and add 1 or 2 on top of it incase of loss, which can unfortunately happen with babies. Young chicks should be housed indoors somewhere, and kept draft free. Plan on chicks needing a heat lamp/ heat plate/ heat source to 8 weeks of age.  We recommend Heat Lamps. We see lots of loss with people using plates due to lack of light and sufficient heat. If not using a lamp, make sure there is a good light on in the room so it's not dark, otherwise the chicks will not eat or drink! The first week of life requires 100 degree temp for heat! Huddled and/or loudly chirping chicks are COLD and Unhappy. Fresh chick starter feed and warm water must be available around the clock. Young chicks can be SHOCKED with drinking cold water, provide WARM Water! Bantam breeds may require CHICK MASH, which can be obtained or you can run chick starter crumbles thru a coffee grinder. Please consider these will become adult birds and will need a predator-proof coop & outdoor housing. You must also consider your own pets & children that may endanger your birds and to be sure they are safe and out of reach.

TURKEY POULTS: They require 28-30% protein Turkey gamebird starter. They DO NOT thrive on regular chicken starter and many find that they lose them. Major bullet points of common Turkey Mistakes:

~ Feed is too low of protein (30% ideal)

~ Slippery Brooder floor surface. Puppy training pads often work well at young ages.

~ Too cold, may require additional heat! Keep draft free!

~ Housing with other types of birds or chicks, should have a seperate brooder space.
